Instead of creating customers manually, you can import them directly from your connected payment processor through the partner who referred them. This saves time and ensures all the right details are pulled in automatically.

Requirements

  • An active integration with Stripe, Paddle, or Chargebee

  • The customer’s ID or email address in your payment processor

Steps

  1. Open the partner’s profile in Tolt from the Partners page (the partner who referred the customer).

  2. Click Create customer.

  3. Select your connected payment processor (Stripe, Paddle, or Chargebee).

  4. Enter the customer’s ID or email address.

  5. Set the customer’s status (Lead, Active, Trial, Canceled, Refunded, or Suspended).

  6. (Optional) Import charges if you want to bring in the customer’s past payments.

    • This will also create the related transactions in Tolt.

    • If those transactions meet your flow conditions, commissions will be automatically created.

  7. Click Import customer to finish.

Once imported, the customer’s created date, name, subscription ID, email, and customer ID will be displayed in Tolt.

💡 Importing customers from your payment processor offers flexibility and control over your partner program. It’s useful for syncing past activity, handling special cases, or testing your setup. Once a customer is imported, any future payments from them will be tracked automatically.
